BHUBANESWAR: City-based four-decade-old Bhubaneswar Music Circle (BMC) would pay a befitting tribute to its founder late Sardar Santok Singh through an evening of ‘bhajans’ and ‘ghazals’ here on Sunday evening. BMC general secretary Mr.Khirod Patnaik told ‘The Hindu’ that late Singh, a Punjabi who made Orissa his home in the late 40’s, was one of the pioneers who built up a rich cultural environment for Orissa’s new capital city of Bhubaneswar. BMC was his brain-child and he patronised it for years, he revealed. Siddharth Mishra along with his troupe would sing bhajans and ghazals at the Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalaya Indoor Auditorium on Sunday, Mr.Patnaik said. The annual national music festival of BMC has been scheduled for November 23 to 25 and some of the best known artistes would perform in it, he said.
