Youth and women conventions would be held as part of the utsava Chitradurga: Hectic preparations are on for Sharana Samskruti Utsava being organised by Murgharajendra Math here. The five-day programme will begin from October 18. Addressing presspersons here on Saturday, Sri Shivamurthy Murugha Swami said that several dignitaries, including CPM Polit Bureau member Sitaram Yechuri, opposition leader of legislative council H.K. Patil, former Chief Minister S. Bangarappa, Janata Dal (Secular) State President Merajuddin Patel, and several other noted personalities would attend the function. Women conventionHe said that as part of the Utsava, youth and women conventions would be held. Experts would address the gathering and issues related to women and youth would be highlighted. Active participationHe said that the maths have not remained mere spiritual centres but take active participation in social reforms also. Sri Shivamurthy Murugha Swami said that for the past 20 years, the math has been holding the Utsava to bring all sections of the society on a common platform to discuss social issues and find solutions for them.
