VILLUPURAM: An open army recruitment rally will be held on the Police Grounds at Ulundurpet from October 31 to November 6. Eligible candidates from Kancheepuram, Vellore, Cuddalore, Thiruvallur, Thiruvannamalai, Villupuram and Chennai districts and the Union Territory of Puducherry selected as soldiers of various categories such as general duty, technical assistant, nursing assistant, clerk/storekeeper technical and tradesman.
While non-matriculation candidates will be considered for the post of tradesman, those to be selected for the general duty should have completed SSLC/Std. X. For other posts, those who with higher secondary school certificates will be chosen. But, those who are qualified in the vocational stream are ineligible.
