Revenue and police officials pacify agitators

NAMAKKAL: Residents of Koothampoondi village blocked the Namakkal Tiruchengode main road here on Friday demanding that the district administration provide adequate supply of drinking water.

They claimed that their village was not supplied with water for a week. They urged the district administration to ensure uniform supply of water.

Revenue and police officials pacified the agitators and persuaded them to disperse.

Traffic on the road was affected for about an hour.
