New Delhi: A travel promotion company would get back its car after a protracted legal wrangle of over 10 years as the Delhi Consumer Commission has held a motor workshop guilty of unfair trade practice by retaining the vehicle for non-payment of a disputed bill.
The Commission’s president Justice J D Kapoor has ordered M/s Classic Motors Ltd, a city-based service station, to return the car to Travel Promotion Bureau Pvt Ltd (TPBPL) within 15 days of the order.
Mr. Justice Kapoor, in a recent order, has also warned the workshop that if it failed to follow the Commission’s instructions, its owner will face arrest under the Consumer Protection Act.
“It is a very sad case as TPBPL suffered inordinate and highly protracted litigation for 10 long years,” the Commission said. - PTI
