Petition dismissed

Bangalore: The Karnataka High Court on Friday dismissed an application by Maritibbe Gowda, the MLC elected from the Mysore teachers’ constituency.

Mr. Marithibbe Gowda had questioned the validity of the election petition filed against him by the Janata Dal (Secular) candidate, Sharadamba, and the Bharatiya Janata Party candidate, Chiknanjaiah.

Non-teachers enrolled

Both of them had questioned Mr. Marithibbe Gowda’s election. They said that non-teachers had been enrolled in the electoral rolls. Justice N. Kumar dismissed the application.
