Bhattal takes over as Punjab PCC president

CHANDIGARH: Coinciding with the auspicious Navratras when woman is worshipped as “Shakti” (divine power), the newly-appointed president of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee, Rajinder Kaur Bhattal, put in a major show of strength on Saturday as she trooped into the party’s headquarters here to formally assume charge of the responsibility assigned to her by the high command.
Sporting a designer salwar-kameez and draped in a traditional dupatta, Ms. Bhattal, accompanied by party general secretary Margaret Alva, Union Minister Ambika Soni and PCC working president Mohinder Singh Kaypee, was greeted by a restive gathering of party workers.The trio garlanded the busts of Indira Gandhi and, Rajiv Gandhi.
