‘Mahouts helpless’

VIZIANAGARAM: Mahouts and trackers, who accompanied the trained tusker Jayant from Chittoor to tackle the wild elephant menace in G.L.Puram and Kurupam mandals in the district, have reportedly told Parvathipuram Forest Range Officer Bernard Raju that "they can do nothing as bursting of crackers has no effect on them.

Moreover, the elephants are attacking them." They informed that they were facing difficulty in separating the male trained elephant from that of the female herd.
