CHENNAI: The Sri Lankan Government is keen on promoting film shooting in Sri Lanka by foreign film makers and attracting South Indian makers and producers.
Special concessions
Addressing film producers of Tamil Nadu at an interaction organised here in connection with the Festival of Sri Lankan Films, Asoka Serasinghe, chairman, National Film Corporation of Sri Lanka, said the Sri Lankan Government was considering the request made by South Indian film producers to grant special concessions to Indian producers who were using the various locations in Sri Lanka.
The Corporation would immediately waive charges levied for shooting feature films.
It would grant a surety bond to the Sri Lankan Customs for clearance of camera and other equipment.
The Tamil producers have thanked the Sri Lankan Government and the Corporation for considering their request to make Sri Lanka a preferred shooting destination.
