The next one to be organised at Kariyapatti, informs Virudhunagar Collector
VIRUDHUNAGAR: The district administration has organised a two-day camp for physically challenged persons from Aruppukottai Panchayat Union to cater to their medical and economic needs on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Over 15,000 physically challenged persons faced the difficulty of visiting various offices at different locations to get the benefits. “Officials of all related departments will participate in the camp so that the physically challenged people can get their problems solved at one spot,” said Collector V. Chandrasekaran.
The first camp would be held at the Aruppukottai Panchayat Union Office. The next camp would be held at Kariyapatti. “We will study the problems faced in these two camps and set right things, so that similar camps can be conducted twice a month,” Mr. Chandrasekaran said.
Besides, providing medical check up at these camps, the beneficiaries would be provided with walking sticks, spectacles and (Braille) watches, wheel-chairs, tricycles, callipers, he said. Efforts would be made to provide house site pattas too.
Loan applications
Bank officials would be available at the camp to settle long pending loan applications. “If the candidates bring community, income and nativity certificates and other related documents, we can grant loans to the deserving persons,” Mr. Chandrasekaran said.
Besides, the Collector would also use his discretionary powers to help the needy.
