TRS will ban corporate colleges: KCR

‘Andhra-based colleges asking students to keep away from Telangana movement’

HYDERABAD: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) president K. Chandrashekhar Rao on Sunday declared that all Andhra-based corporate colleges would be banned when Telangana State would be formed and his party assumes power.

At a press conference here, Mr. Rao said that he had received complaints that teachers at a corporate college at Dilshuknagar were advising students to keep away from Telangana movement and not to join Telangana ‘Vidyarthi Vibhaag’.

Mr. Rao claimed that he had received telephone calls from parents of the students and warned the management of severe consequences if the trend continued.

It was not proper to dilute the Telangana agitation, he added.

Replying to a question, Mr. Rao said that his party was ready to face mid-term elections to the Lok Sabha. The issue would become clear on October 22 when the UPA-Left committee would meet.

The party’s fortnight-long ‘praja sadassus’ would begin at Bhongir on Monday. Instead of holding ‘girijan sadassus’ as planned earlier, the TRS leaders would extensively tour girijan hamlets during the first week of next month.
