CHENNAI: Followers of Periyar should also be followers of Ambedkar, K. Veeramani, president of the Dravidar Kazhagam, has said.
He was addressing a seminar on the relevance of Buddhism in the contemporary world organised by the Dr Ambedkar Centre for Economic Studies on October 12 and 13. In the inaugural address, Planning Commission member Balchandra Mungakar said Buddhism could play a major role in resolving socio-economic inequalities in Indian society. Technical sessions discussed various topics such as philosophy and economics from a Buddhist perspective. — Special Correspondent
