Telugu Desam MLA arrested

VISAKHAPATNAM: The police arrested Telugu Desam Party MLA from Payakaraopeta Chengal Venkata Rao and other activists and fishermen during a protest against a bulk drug unit coming up at Rajailipeta village near Nakkapali on Sunday.

Tension gripped the area as the crowd with large number of women tried to storm the Hetero Drugs Private Limited. The fishermen were on a warpath against laying a pipeline to discharge effluents into the sea. Mr. Rao said the unit would pollute the area.
