K-G basin porata samiti to continue agitation

Staff Reporter

GUNTUR: The Krishna-Godavari basin Porata Samiti has vowed to continue its fight to continue its fight for allocation of a fair share of gas reserves to the State. At a meeting held here on Sunday, M.L.C. K. Lakshmana Rao and former MP Y. Sivaji said the State had been put in a spot after the Centre too has expressed its helplessness in fixing the gas price.

They demanded that the State Government should explore all possible options to dissuade RIL to reduce the price and warned that they would intensify the agitation. “We are ready to fight a protracted battle with the State and Central Government to restore our right,” they said.

Samiti convener Kolla Rajmohan said that they would organise many more meetings to bring awareness over the issue. Avagahana secretary K. Sivarami Reddy and others were present.
