Ramzan celebrated with religious fervour

Spiritual trance: People offering special prayers at Idgah in Karimnagar town on the occasion of Ramzan on Sunday.

SANGAREDDY: Eid Ul Fitr was celebrated with religious fervour in the district.

With the moon sighted on Saturday there was heavy rush in the markets all through the night here and places like Zaheerabad and Siddipet.

The cloth and sweet shops in Nalsabgadda market here did good business.

The main prayer was held at the Edgah here on the Manjeera Road and Nawapet in Siddipetwhich was attended by Muslims of all ages. MLC R.Satyanarayana was among the few leaders who arrived at the Edgah maidan to wish the Muslims.

Many Hindus also dropped in at the maidan to greet their Muslim brethren on the occasion.

Staff Reporter from Karimnagar adds: Muslims in Karimnagar district celebrated Ramzan with religious fervour and gaiety on Sunday amid tight security cover. Thousands of Muslims assembled at Idgah on the outskirts of Karimnagar town for the special prayers. Similar special prayers were also held in Jagtial, Korutla, Metpally and other towns in the district. After the prayers Muslims greeted each other.
