Coimbatore: A five-year-old girl Dhanalakshmi of Kangeyampalayam, near Sulur, was mauled by stray dogs when she was playing near her house on Sunday morning. Chicken stalls The chicken stalls those do brisk business on Sundays used to dump the poultry waste on a wasteland. Nearly eight to 10 dogs were fighting for their share of poultry waste, when the girl was playing near there. Suddenly the dogs pounced on her, said Dhanalakshmi’s father Kannimuthu, a conservancy worker, and wife Neelaveni. In hospitalNeighbours who heard screaming of the girl chased the dogs and rescued her. With bleeding injuries all over the body, she was rushed to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital.
