A 19-year-old woman Omera Begum allegedly hanged herself to death at her residence at Aghapura on Saturday.
The police said Omera could have ended her life following alleged harassment by her husband Aneesuddin and in-laws, while her parents alleged that it was a murder. Omera was married to Aneesuddin 11 months ago, according to the police.
Constable dies in accident
A constable of Saifabad police station was killed after the motorcycle he was riding was run over by an unidentified vehicle at Ferozguda on Saturday. M. Mokshanandam (37), a resident of Bowenpally, was coming towards Balanagar from Kukatpally along with his friend when the accident occurred, the police said.
Housewife commits suicide
A housewife, who attempted suicide by setting herself ablaze at her house in Santoshnagar on Friday, died while undergoing treatment at the Osmania General Hospital on Saturday. Twenty-one-year-old Anitha alias Padma killed herself as she was unable to bear the torture allegedly by her husband for additional dowry.
Abandoned objects trigger panic
A television remote control and tiffin box that were found abandoned at Abids and Pureni Haveli in the old city on Sunday triggered panic among residents and police officials.
The police later seized the objects after examining them with the help of Bomb Disposal Squad.
