Negligence: dentist told to pay Rs. 1 lakh

BANGALORE: A consumer disputes redressal forum has found a dentist negligent while injecting a pain killer to a 20-year-old student. It affected movement of her right hand. The forum directed the dentist to pay a compensation of Rs. 1 lakh to the complainant and Rs. 5,000 towards the cost of litigation. The Third Additional Bangalore Urban District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum found Archana Hegde, who runs Tarana Dental Clinic in Padmanabhanagar, negligent in administering Diclofenac Sodium injection to M.A. Shilpa, which made her right hand weak and incapable of finer movements.
