BANGALORE: Two boys, aged 5 and 4, drowned in an overhead water tank of an apartment off Indira Nagar 100 Foot Road in Jeevan Bima Nagar police station limits on Saturday. The police gave the names of the boys as Takshay and Himal, children of Deb Bahadur, who was working as a watchman in Kartik apartments near New Horizon School. He was staying in a room on the apartment premises along with his wife, Kamala, and the children. Takshay was studying in lower kindergarten in a nearby school. Takshay and Himal went to play on the apartment’s fourth floor, where they usually played, in the evening. As the boys did not come home for the night, the parents launched a search for them. When they went to the fourth floor on Sunday, they found the bodies in the tank. The police have registered a case. Investigation is on. Four dieFour persons were killed in road accidents reported in the city on Saturday and Sunday. A 50-year-old man was killed after he was hit by a motorcycle on Kathriguppe Main Road in Banashankari traffic police station limits on Sunday. The victim, Ramachandra, a resident of Vinayaka Nagar, was hit while he was crossing the road. The Banashankari traffic police have launched a search for the motorcycle rider. Mariyappa (22), who riding a motorcycle, was killed after he lost control over the vehicle near Bellandur Lake on Outer Ring Road on Saturday. According to the police, the incident occurred after Mariyappa hit a pedestrian and fell into a drain. He suffered head injuries and died while he being taken to a hospital, the police said. A 19-year-old security guard was killed after he was hit by a motorcycle near Netra Park at Nellurahalli in K.R. Puram traffic police station limits. The victim, Parthiraj, a native of Bihar, was working in a software company. The incident occurred when he was returning home in Nellurahalli. The K.R. Puram traffic police are on the lookout for the motorcyclist. Another pedestrian was killed near Dodakalsandra on Kanakapura Road on Saturday. The victim, Raju (24) of Kamakshipalya, was hit by a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation bus that was on its way to Kanakapura. Raju was killed on the spot, the Kumaraswamy Layout traffic police said. SuicideShankar (52), a financier and owner of a bar and a restaurant, committed suicide here on Sunday in Jeevan Bima Nagar police station limits. According to the police, Shankar, a resident of 4th Cross Jeevan Bima Nagar was going through some financial troubles and decided to end his life.
