All you ask for in the name of riches

With the marriage season about to begin, India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) in association with Minerals and Metals Trading Corporation Limited (MMTC) is hosting a four-day jewellery and watch show at Delhi’s Pragati Maidan beginning this Friday.

Titled ‘India Jewellery and Watch Show 2007’, it will see participation of over 35 prominent players of the Indian jewellery industry. While Children’s Films Society of India chairperson Nafisa Ali will inaugurate the show at Hall No. 11 of the exhibition ground, Secretary (Department of Commerce) G. K. Pillai will be the guest of honour.

Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, ITPO Chairman and Managing Director Sheela Bhide said the fair would prove to be a large foreign exchange earner as a number of foreigners have confirmed that they will visit the show. “We will focus on gold jewellery and gemstones. In fact, Jaipur is famous for its precious and semi-precious gemstones. As a number of domestic and foreign buyers are apprehensive about the authenticity of jewellery, we will install high precision machines that will give a clear idea of the purchased items,” she said. There will also be a number of items in silver and gold medallions featuring Mahatma Gandhi.
