Man robbed of Rs. 10 lakh
Staff Reporter
BANGALORE: Armed men stabbed a man from Mumbai who had come here to admit his son in Ambedkar Medical College and snatched a bag containing Rs. 10 lakh in cash from him on Monday.
The police said Laljith Maurya came to the college in the afternoon to get Sunil Maurya admitted into the MBBS course under the management quota.
When the clerk told him to come back later as it was time for lunch, father and son went and sat at a bus stop near the college.
Three men, who came there on a motorcycle, tried to snatch the cash bag from Mr. Maurya. When he resisted, they stabbed him with a knife, snatched the bag and sped away, the police said. On a complaint by Mr. Maurya, the Devarajeevanahalli police registered a case.
