Krishnagiri: The district administration has initiated all out efforts to make Krishnagiri district free from out-of-school children by 2008, said Collector Santhosh Babu at a review meeting here on Tuesday.
Admission
The administration had been supporting students from remote and inaccessible areas to get admission in Teacher Training Institutes, he said.
The district administration had uploaded the profiles of about 8,600 out-of-school children and their families in the tracking and monitoring software www.back2school. in. so far.
The software sought to eliminate the child labour menace and prevent children from dropping out of school, the Collector said.
To start with, the district administration had supplied child monitoring cards to all schools and Alternative and Innovative Education centres in the district.
Details
The card included the photograph of the child and other details such as the parents’ occupation and economic status.
Steps on
Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan had initiated steps to provide on-the-job training to schoolteachers on the handling of computers and also the operation of tracking and monitoring software, the Collector added.
