Child workers rescued

Krishnagiri: District anti-child labour squads rescued four child labourers found working in hotels and tea shops here on Tuesday. Acting on instructions from Collector Santhosh Babu, a team conducted surprise raids on hotels and rescued the children.

The children will be admitted to special schools. Action has been initiated against the owners under the Child Labour Prevention and Regulation Act 1986. The Collector directed officials to distribute 35 kg of rice and house site pattas to the families of the child workers. – Staff Reporter
