SRINAGAR: Three Hizbul Mujahideen militants and a police official were killed in two separate incidents in Jammu and Kashmir while another Hizb ultra was arrested, officials said on Tuesday. The three Hizbul militants - Showkat Ali, Rafiq Ahmad Gujjar and Noor Hussain - were killed in a shootout with a joint search party of police and security forces at Lancha village in Ramban district on Tuesday, a police spokesman said. Four magazines, 90 rounds, two hand grenades and a wireless set were recovered from them. Special Police Officer Mushtaq Ahmad Khan, posted with the Special Operations Group of Jammu and Kashmir Police, was shot dead by militants in Kupwara district last evening. A spokesman said Khan was posted at the Sheikhnaar camp in Kupwara and had gone home to celebrate Eid with his family. In another incident, three militants set ablaze the hay stocks of two brothers - Mohammad Baksh and Sher Mohammad Gujjar - in Thursoo-Kund village of Reasi district. - PTI
