igniting minds: Students taking a look at an aircraft at a national seminar on aerospace structures at Park College of Engineering and Tekhnology at Kaniyur, near Coimbatore, on Tuesday.
TIRUPUR: The two-day exhibition and national seminar on aerospace structures that concluded on Tuesday at Park College of Engineering and Tekhnology in Kaniyur, near Karumathampatty, ignited excitement among students to know more about satellite, aircraft and launch vehicles.
The exhibition, which was attended by many technocrats from from aeronautical industry and Air Force, highlighted important Indian space programmes by Indian Space Research Organisation and National Aerospace Laboratories, Bangalore.

The students of aeronautical engineering department of the college organised a poster exhibition on the subject.
While, ISRO officials offered a detailed audio and video presentation on milestones in space research, including satellite launch vehicles, the students thrilled over the presentation by Indian Air Force officials.
After hearing a session by an officer from IAF, a first year student Hafib Hamza said he wished to join the Air Force.
“They explained about launching of satellites. The prototypes of launch vehicles and satellites gave us three dimensional view,” Hamza remarked.

Another student, Ben Stephen wanted such exhibitions conducted periodically as it was useful for students to understand the subject in a more practical way. Many students have a close look at a small aircraft at the venue.
