Pleas against Ministers dismissed

Staff Reporter

Thiruvananthapuram: The Vigilance Court today dismissed two petitions seeking an anti-corruption enquiry against Forest Minister Benoy Viswom and Labour Minister P. K. Gurudasan in the Merchiston estate issue. The enquiry commissioner and special judge issued the order after considering two petitions filed by private persons.

Viswom happy

Mr. Viswom said the order would give strength to the LDF government to continue its drive to protect the forest wealth and public assets.

“The verdict heralds the victory of truth. It strengthens the trust of ordinary men in the rule of law and judiciary. The citadel built on lies by vested interests has fallen flat,” he said.
