Worker killed

Coimbatore: Dhandapani (17), a jewellery factory employee, was killed when a lorry rammed into a roadside bus stop at the Ravathur Junction near Sulur on Monday night. It is learnt that the lorry driver lost control over the vehicle while overtaking a bus.

Members of the Tamizhaga Vivasayigal Sangham and other residents likely to be affected by the proposed bypass road between Neelambur and Mettupalayam Road staged a demonstration in front of the Red Cross Society building on Tuesday opposing the move to acquire agricultural lands and other residential areas.
