PDS rice seized

Coimbatore: The Coimbatore Rural Police in a raid conducted on a house at Sirumugai arrested three persons and seized 20 bags weighing 50 kg each of rice for supply under the Public Distribution System. A van, two mopeds, two cellular phones and cash in the possession of the trio were also seized.

Commotion prevailed at a private complex on Tiruchi Road that housed the Debt Recovery Tribunal on Tuesday morning following a phone call stating that a bomb would go off shortly. Anti-sabotage checks by the police proved that it was a hoax call.
