This Day That Age
The need for more fertilizers and establishment of seed multiplication farms and stores was stressed at the Agriculture Ministers’ conference in Srinagar last week-end. Discussions at the three-day conference, which was attended by the Agriculture Ministers of most of the States, covered all aspects of agricultural development. The conference had recommended implementation of land reforms, fixation of minimum prices for farm produce and provision of more minor irrigation facilities. It had expressed the view that it was essential to fix minimum prices for farm produce as without such an assurance it was difficult to induce the cultivators to increase their investment on land.
