We have vital clues: Punjab police

Chandigarh: The Punjab police on Tuesday claimed to have got some “vital clues” to Sunday’s Ludhiana cinema bomb blast.

“We have got vital clues,” Additional Director-General (Law and Order) Chandershekhar told PTI. However, revealing the details would hamper investigations.

A team under the command of DIG (Ludhiana range) Ishwar Singh had been constituted to further investigate all probable angles.

Mr. Chandershekhar said, “The situation is still unclear about the kind of explosives and chemicals used to trigger the blast,” in which six persons were killed and 25 injured.

In Ludhiana, sources in the security agencies said the ISI angle was being explored as RDX, sourced from across the border, was also used in the explosion. The investigating agencies are questioning the persons arrested during the massive heroin seizures in the State in the recent past, it is learnt. — PTI
