Introduces wider range of spectacles Ties up with Prime Ophthalmic CHENNAI: Kodak is entering the Indian branded spectacle market with its complete range of lenses to suit all segments of consumers. Kodak spectacle lenses are popular in the U.S., the U.K, Germany, Holland, Spain, Japan and Hong Kong, and are available in more than 10 different materials in every design. Elaborating about the launch of lenses in the Indian market, Andrea Moscatelli, Vice-President, International, said the manufacture of Kodak lenses was undertaken by Signet Armorlite of the U.S. The Kodak Unique Lens uses new manufacturing and processing technologies. In frames with longer fitting heights, the software will design a longer corridor length and expand the usable intermediate and reading areas. The company has been licensed to market the lenses worldwide and the Chennai-based Prime Ophthalmic Products Pvt. Ltd. has a distribution arrangement. It appointed 100 dealers all over India. Vikram Gupta, Managing Director, Prime Ophthalmic, claims that Kodak photochromic lenses are more than three times powerful than normal photochromic lenses and the progressive range is thinner and small. The lenses are available in the range of Rs. 1,200 – 20,000.
