Central Zone struggles

PALAKKAD: Central Zone struggled to 144 for seven on a rain-hit opening day of its three-dayer against North in the Jacob Trophy Kerala State senior inter-zone cricket championship at the Fort Ground here on Tuesday.

The match began a little after noon and also had an early close. Sreekumar Nair was the day’s top scorer with 37 while North’s Mohammed Riyas took two wickets for 14 runs.
