Plot to murder Bihar BJP leader unearthed

Kishanganj: Police on Tuesday unearthed a plot to murder a senior BJP leader Dilip Jaiswal with the arrest of a contract killer from Khagra in Kishanganj district of Bihar.

Rajesh Kumar Saha, a sharp-shooter of a dreaded gang led by Chintu Sardar, presently under judicial custody in Araria, was arrested after he picked up a quarrel with locals on Monday evening, Deputy Superintendent of Police Laldhar Prasad said.

As locals traced a 9 mm pistol in his pocket, they overpowered him and started thrashing him before the police arrived there, he said. Injured Rajesh was then brought to the Khagra police station where he confessed that he was assigned a contract of Rs.3 lakh to eliminate Mr. Jaiswal, who is the treasurer of the State unit of the BJP and director of the MGM College and Hospital here.

The pistol and Mr. Jaiswal’s photographs, besides a map of the MGM College and Hospital were seized from him, the DSP said adding Rajesh had alleged that a former secretary of the private medical college had drawn the conspiracy against the BJP leader. - PTI
