Unknown Samaritan

D. Kumar Swamy of Kalyan Nagar writes: High stress and a fast-paced lifestyle may be taking a toll on the lives and social behaviour of young people in the city.

But there still a few selfless people around like the one who took my son to hospital after he had an accident on October 4. My son had fallen off his motorcycle, injuring his chin and fracturing his hand. He was profusely bleeding. This person, who came on a motorcycle, took my son to a hospital in Kammnanahalli. I am frantically looking for this “gentleman” to express my gratitude for this rare kind act.

Nirmala Narayanan of J.B. Nagar says: The article was reflective of the current trend. Excess money is definitely having an impact on the behaviour of youth and children. Being a parent of two children, one still in school, I get to hear a lot about their classmates. My younger son told me that when one of his classmates lost his i-Pod, the boy was not upset much since it was a gift from his aunt and his parents may not create a ruckus about it. I feel sad about today’s youth. Though they have plenty of money, they seem to be the most deprived lot in terms of love and care.
