KANCHEEPURAM: The Tirumala Tirupathi Devesthanams will consider any support from private parties/associations in setting up advance seva ticket booking counters, according to TTD Joint Executive Officer, Tirupathi, N.Srikanth.
Talking to reporters here on Sunday, Mr.Srikanth said the TTD had set up 35 ticket booking counters at various places across the country in order to help devotees book seva tickets in advance and perform the ‘sevas’ at Tirumala.
“If religious organisations or individual donors come forward to donate land or buildings for setting up seva ticket counters, the offer will be accepted with pleasure by the TTD,” he said.
Though setting up of information centres such as TTD Information Centre at T.Nagar in Chennai would be more beneficial to devotees, it would be difficult for the TTD to invest money and set up and manage more number of such facilities at various places, he said.
The Joint Executive Officer said a TTD seva ticket booking counter was opened at Coimbatore recently.
With regard to performance of `kalyana utsavam’ in places other than Tirumala, Mr. Srikanth said if local religious organisations took necessary arrangements and measures for its conduct at the places desired by devotees, the idols and temple priests would be brought to those places in the “Sri Vari Kalyana Ratham” donated by Kanchi Sankara Mutt.
