‘Ministers from State should quit’

KADAPA: Rajya Sabha member C. Ramachandraiah on Tuesday asked the eight Union Ministers from the State to prevail upon the Centre to enhance the MSP for paddy to Rs. 1,000 per quintal.

“All Union Ministers from the State should resign if the UPA government fails to enhance the MSP for paddy,” Mr. Ramachandraiah said at a press conference here. The MSP for paddy was Rs. 230 in 1990-91, Rs. 560 in 2003-04 and Rs. 690 in 2007-08, but the MSP fixed for wheat in the corresponding years was Rs. 225, Rs. 640 and Rs. 1,000, the Telugu Desam MP said.
