Steps for adequate supply of LPG

HYDERABAD: The State government has announced that oil companies are making efforts to ensure that there is no shortage in the supply of cooking gas during the festival season.

In a statement issued here on Tuesday, Commissioner of Civil Supplies G.N. Rao said that 4,267 tonnes of bulk LPG was available with the HPCL, IOC and BPCL to fill three lakh refill cylinders. Another 2,328 tonnes of LPG, to be filled in 1,63,944 cylinders, was in transit. One ship with 13,000 tonnes of bulk LPG would reach Visakhapatnam port on Wednesday.

Bottling operation

Additional shift for bottling operations was carried out on Sunday at HPCL’s Cherlapally and Kondapalli plants and 38,425 cylinders were additionally supplied in Hyderabad, Vijayawada and surrounding areas, said Mr. Rao.

Additional shifts were also run by IOC at Cherlapally, Thimmapur (Hyderabad), Kondapalli and Parawada (Visakhapatnam) on Saturday and Sunday last and an 43,450 cylinders were supplied to market in addition to the existing quota.

The BPCL too supplied 10,200 refills additionally.
