Timescale pay sought

CHENNAI: The Confederation of Organisations for Persons with Mental Disability has reiterated its demand for timescale pay for special teachers. It costs nearly Rs.1 lakh for a person to become a Rehabilitation Council of India recognised special teacher, and it is natural for them to expect appropriate pay, the confederation stated in a release.

Several special teachers had quit, which had affected education and training of mentally retarded students.
