Fined for tree felling

Hosur: As many as nine villagers were fined by the forest department authorities for illegal felling of trees in the Panchapalli Reserve Forests at Denkanikottai near here on Wednesday. Following instructions from Conservator of Forests Dharmapuri Circle Mani a team led by Denkanikottai Ranger Selvaraj was on patrol in the forest area when they found nine persons cutting bamboo trees.

The villagers were fined Rs.1,000 each for illegal felling of trees in the Panchapalli forests.
