Students stage demonstration

VILLUPURAM: Students of Tindivanam Government Arts College took out a procession on Wednesday protesting the violence unleashed by police on some students of Presidency College in Chennai.

Nine members of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam were arrested on charges of burning the effigy of Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi. They resorted to the agitation to condemn the power bestowed upon the police to clamp down on the students.

In Cuddalore, students of Government Arts College staged a demonstration condemning the attack.
