University of California gives presentation on Panchkula Nano City project
CHANDIGARH: The University of California gave a presentation on planning for the Nano City Project being set up in Panchkula district of Haryana to the visiting delegation led by Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda in San Francisco, an official spokesman said here on Wednesday.
The Nano City Project is being developed by the Haryana Government and Sabeer Bhatia of Hotmail fame as a joint venture near Panchkula.
The Nano City had been conceptualised and planned by the College of Environment Design, University of California, Berkeley.
Mr. Hooda was very impressed and appreciated the need for optimum and efficient use of the resources like water and power, keeping in mind environmental factors, while planning the city.
