Chiranjeevi’s daughter Sreeja weds

HYDERABAD: Film star Chiranjeevi’s second daughter, Sreeja, married Sirish Bharadwaj, an engineering graduate, at the Arya Samaj temple at New Bowenpally here on Wednesday.

Sreeja, 19, who is pursuing a course in chartered accountancy, and Bharadwaj, 22, said they knew each other for the last four years.

Parents of neither the bride nor the bridegroom were present at the simple ceremony that was attended by a small group of Bharadwaj’s friends.

Chiranjeevi could not be contacted by mediapersons but his brother-in-law Allu Aravind said the film star was “shocked” by the developments because Sreeja had not informed her parents about her wedding plans.

PTI reports: Sirish said, “We did not inform our parents about our marriage plans. This is not out of any disrespect for them. We had to do this because our families are against this inter-caste marriage.”
