This Day That Age
The Indian Finance Minister, Mr. T.T. Krishnamachari, declared on October 16 in London that India would “most certainly” accept financial aid from Communist countries. “If it is offered without strings we would accept it from wherever it comes, especially if it can be utilised for the benefit of our country,” he told a press conference on the eve of his week-long tour of West Germany. Mr. Krishnamachari’s trip trying to obtain foreign investment in India brought him to London last Friday after visiting the United States. He has had talks with several British Government Ministers, including the Prime Minister Mr. Harold Macmillan and leading bankers and industrialists.
