Sahgal Stud beats Cavalry Red

NEW DELHI: Dhruvpal Godara fired six goals as Sahgal Stud edged past Cavalry Red by eight-and-a-half goals to seven in the Pool B match in the Baroda Cup 12-goal polo tournament at the Army Equestrian Centre ground here on Wednesday.

Godara’s effort was complimented by Kelvin Johnson and Gaurav Sahgal after Sahgal Stud started with half-a-goal on handicap. For Cavalry, Santiago Cernada struck five and Ravi Rathore and Tunku Ismail Ibrahim had one each.

In the other match, Jaipur Polo Club and Sixt drew 8-8. For JPC, Manupal Godara scored five, Lokendra Singh two and Ransher chipped in one. Angad Kalaan slotted in five, Adhiraj Singh scored two and Uday Kalaan struck one for Sixt. — Principal Correspondent
