Grandeur marks ‘Pushpaka Vimanam’ procession at Tirumala

TIRUMALA: Splendour marked the grand procession of ‘Pushpaka Vimanam’ organised on Wednesday evening on the sixth day of the ongoing Navaratri Brahmotsavams of Lord Venkateswara. Tens of thousands of devotees queued up on either side of the mada streets to catch a glimpse of the divine procession.
The processional deity of Lord Malayappa Swamy flanked by his two divine consorts on either side was taken out in a procession on the ‘Pushpaka Vimanam’. Several tonnes of a variety of aromatic flowers went into the making of the exquisite palanquin. The TTD chairman B. Karunakar Reddy formally pressed two more new free buses in the service of the visiting pilgrims adding to the already existing fleet of eight buses. The buses, which are being named as Srivari Ratham shall be operated on the thoroughfares of the temple town round the clock for the benefit of the visiting devotees. Pilgrims can board these buses and can travel to any place atop the hill town free of cost.
Prominent among others who were present include the TTD executive officer K.V. Ramanachary, Tirumala based JEO G. Balaramaiah and other officials.
