NEW DELHI: The Bharatiya Janata Party has once again demanded an apology from Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi for his earlier remarks on Lord Ram while noting that he had said he did not mean any offence. Party spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said that the UPA government was bending over backwards to accommodate the views of its allies on various issues, especially noting the ‘put-the-nuclear-deal-on-hold’ stance. The party welcomed the sentiments expressed by actor Rajnikant that the people’s sentiments on Ramar Sethu must be respected. “We urge the UPA to announce before this year is out that the Ram[ar] Sethu will not be damaged,” Mr. Javadekar said.
