Mani Shankar Aiyar in hospital

CHENNAI: Union Minister for Panchayati Raj Mani Shankar Aiyar was admitted in Apollo Hospitals here after he complained of discomfort as he arrived at the airport here on Wednesday.

He was admitted in the intensive care unit for evaluation of chest pain.

He is being treated for acute coronary syndrome, according to a hospital bulletin.

He needs to be under continuous monitoring and his general condition is reported to be stable.
