KLCE storms into final

VIJAYAWADA: Koneru Lakshmaiah College of Engineering (KLCE) entered the final of the Acharya Nagarjuna University (East Zone) inter-collegiate cricket tournament, defeating Hindu College (Machilipatnam) by 87 runs in the first semifinal here on Wednesday.

The scores:

KLCE 176 for six in 30 overs (Ravi Chand 38) bt Hindu College 89 in 28.4 overs.

Krishna in command

Krishna’s Krishna Teja (63 batting), Krishna Babu (57 batting) and Manorevath (five for five) hogged the limelight against Prakasam on the first day of the two-day ACA Central Zone G. Harikumar memorial under-17 cricket tournament at the Loyola Public School grounds at Guntur on Wednesday.

The scores:

Prakasam 84 in 47 overs (Manorevath five for five) vs. Krishna 128 for one in 37 overs (Krishna Teja 63 batting, Krishna Babu 57 batting).

West Godavari 132 in 47 overs (Durga Prasad 68, Sai Kiran four for 28) vs Guntur 132 for four in 34 overs (R.P. Anil 70, R Sudhakar 41 batting).

Hyderabad wins

Hyderabad defeated host East Godavari 64-58 in the men’s final of the 33rd State senior inter-district basketball championship, which concluded at the Kruthiventi Peraraju Panthulu grounds at Ramachandhrapuram (EG District) on Tuesday night.

Postponed

The last date for the receipt of applications to Physical Education Common Entrance Test (PECET-2007) has been extended to October 25, according to ANU physical Director Y. Kishore.

The applications should be sent to the Convener, PECET-2007, Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur District.
