Tara in doubles semifinals

NEW DELHI: Tara Iyer in partnership with Nungnadda Wannasuk of Thailand beat the fourth-seeded Sandy Gumulya and Lavinia Tananta of Indonesia 7-5, 6-4 in the doubles quarterfinals of the $25,000 ITF women’s tennis tournament at Gympie, Australia, on Wednesday.

However, Tara lost 6-1, 7-6(5) in the first round of the singles event to the 180th ranked fourth seed, Monique Adamczak.
