NEW DELHI: The New Delhi Municipal Council has issued a relieving order to its Engineer-in-Chief, K. K. Mutreja, following raids conducted at his office and house by the Anti-Corruption Branch of the Delhi Government.
According to sources, the NDMC was involved in a legal battle over ownership of a property in Sarojini Nagar. After losing the case, the NDMC instead of appealing against the decision allegedly handed over the land to the claimant.
The matter came to the notice of the newly appointed NDMC Chairman who ordered suspension of four senior engineers of the Civil Engineering Department in April.
However, later it became known that top officials of the department were also involved. Based on the information, the Anti-Corruption Branch conducted raids at Mutreja’s office and residence.
Raids
Raids were also conducted at NDMC legal adviser V.C. Chaturvedi’s office following information of the case file being allegedly kept under wraps by him.
